In his series of photo-montage illustrations, Lucas Racasse denounces the incongruities of a reality turned upside down by computers. Man is reduced to a mere object by the computer, which has now become the master of the subject. Having become slaves to the transfer of power to computers and dependent on Internet connections, men and women now live by proxy, for they have been completely unhinged by this new technology. Through his elaborate pictures in saturated true-to-life colours, Lucas seeks to intervene by giving the insidious threat of virtuality a sense of reality. Under the influence of Pop Art, his views mirror the experience of a large population placed under the spotlight. It is his way of telling those who are interested that it is possible to love without using a password. Max file size(s): 1MB, 15MB, 30MB, 50MB (Uncompressed) JPEG. |
