In the style of Muybridge, famous photographer of the second half of the 19th century and forerunner of the cinema, Dominique Douieb here breaks down the motion of the human body into successive moments. Here he freezes the controlled movements of men and women on a white background, like stills from a film of the body in motion. Like a modern-day sculptor, he uses flesh as his raw material and models his bodies to the light, creating a modern version of some Greek sculpture, or a key work of a Giacometti. The pliancy of the male body is revealed in all its splendour, almost putting the female body in the shade. In his own way, Dominique contributes to the rehabilitation of the human body. A very contemporary offering. Max file size(s): 1MB, 15MB, 30MB, 50MB (Uncompressed) JPEG. |
